Typically, there are anywhere from two to eight players in a poker game. The aim of the game is to make the best poker hand and win the pot. Players make decisions based on probability, psychology, and game theory. Whether or not to play a certain hand will depend on the strength of the other players’ hands.

The highest-valued hand wins. A straight flush starts with the highest card. The highest-valued hand, called a straight flush, starts with the highest-valued card. The hand then moves clockwise to each player’s left. If the top-valued hand wins, the winner takes all the chips in the pot.

A poker hand has two pairs of cards plus one high card. When there is a tie, the higher pair wins. If a player has more than one pair of fives, the high card wins.
